The Karl Burke trained Gift List gave the impression that there was plenty more to come after landing today's first race at Newcastle - and with it landing a £20,000 Great British Bonus.
John Fretwell the filly's owner has owned some very good horses in the past such as Temple Meads, Medicine Path, Always Hopeful and Electric Waves and he was delighted with today's win - even more so as it came with a £20,000 Great British Bonus! John commented: "I was so pleased to see Gift List follow up a very pleasing debut performance when beaten only a head at Ripon to land today's race at Newcastle.
"I was even more pleased to see that she has almost got back what she cost me through a £20k Great British Bonus! My son Paul purchased her for 23k Guineas at Tatts Book 3 last year - and with these sorts of bonuses available for British breds through the GBB scheme we will definitely be having an even closer look at GB breds during the upcoming yearling sales season. The GBB scheme is a fantastic initiative - particularly at a time when the industry needs it most."
