Simon Chappell's homebred filly Blackberry claimed her second £20,000 Great British Bonus when landing the 5f fillies' novice at Doncaster yesterday.

The daughter of Brazen Beau had won first time out at Hamilton last month and yesterday took her record to two from two, earning over £46,000, for Chappell and part-owner and trainer Bryan Smart, who said: "This scheme is fantastic for the sport. I will be advertising the benefits far and wide to my owners."

She is a half-sister to Decrypt (Dark Angel), who was third in the Gr.1 Irish 2,000 Guineas, out of the juvenile winner She's A Worldie (Kodiac), whom Chappell raced in partnership before buying her outright for breeding. He keeps about four mares at West Moor Stud with Kate Sigsworth, who said of Blackberry's yearling half-sister by Twilight Son: "She will now definitely go in to training for Simon Chappell. The new GBB scheme makes such a decision very easy."
