A second GB Bonus for Perfect Myth

A new month and another wonderful feel-good story from the Great British Bonus scheme, where the 2020 filly foal registrations closed last night with 1602 fillies now enrolled in the scheme.

As if in celebration, PERFECT MYTH recorded her second bonus win for trainer Neil King (pictured) in the Mansionbet Novice Hurdle at Huntingdon to bring her total of bonuses to £40,000.

The owner, West Country beef producer Richard Vines, was watching from home and could not hide his pride and delight. Rightly so, for this mare is the fifth generation of a family tracing to Eridantini, purchased by Richard at Newmarket in 1975 for 375 Guineas. Along the way, the family has produced numerous useful sprinters including Milton Bradley's Offa's Mead.

However, it was a conscious decision to breed a jumper that led the breeder (and partner David Nott) to send a mare to the much missed British stallion Midnight Legend. As they say, "the rest is history".

This West Country breeding operation has only survived by ploughing back earnings from the racetrack. As 78 year old Richard Vines excitedly stated, "Ive never won so much in all my years in racing. This ensures that we can keep breeding from this wonderful family for a few more years."
