PREMIER SALE IS THE PREMIER PLACE FOR A GBB WINNER!

Yearling sales are a busy time for most in the bloodstock industry and it is no different for the Great British Bonus team. Over the course of the next few months, hundreds of GBB-registered fillies will go under the hammer with purchasers incentivised by the prospect of winning multiple bonuses of up to £20,000.

The Goffs UK Premier Sale is not only Europes leading event at which to buy likely two-year-old winners but a prime place to purchase a potential GBB winner. The BRAZEN BEAU filly BLACKBERRY was sold here in 2019 for £30,000. She went on to be one of the schemes first multiple bonus winners, securing £60,000 for her connections in only four months.

FAITHFUL SPIRIT, bred and sold by Highclere Stud, made just £6,000 at the Premier Sale but went on to win a £20,000 GBB bonus on her debut run.

Meanwhile, another BRAZEN BEAU filly has recently been rewarding her connections with two GBB wins and £30,000 in bonuses. MISS BRAZEN was bought for £8,000 last year by consignor (and part owner) Jamie Railton.

Railton said: MISS BRAZEN won a bonus first-time out and all the owners involved were thrilled. Even better, we can try to win another. As a major consignor, Railton is no stranger to the benefits of GBB. The Great British Bonus is making a difference everywhere in the sale ring, on the racecourse, and its attracting new owners, he said.

In all, 20 bonuses amounting to £315,000 have been won by Goffs UK Premier Sale graduates. Given the scheme has only been running for two years, these stats are certain to resonate with savvy buyers.

Those same buyers will be heartened by the 31 GBB fillies entered for the sale. HAVANA GREYs offspring are sure to be popular and two GBB fillies will be of interest to buyers. Glebe Farm is offering Lot 50 (100% GBB), a grey filly out of INAGH RIVER, herself a winner at two and a dam to six winners, including full sister LADY JANE GREY, who won a £20,000 GBB bonus on her debut run. Multiple bonus winner KATEY KONTENTs full sister out of SHOWSTOPPA is also catalogued as Lot 234 (100% GBB); her half-brother EL CABALLO had six wins, culminating with victory in the Gr. 2 Sandy Lane Stakes.

Other eye-catching lots include Lot 52, a Havana Grey filly out of the Gr.2 Lowther Stakes winner INFAMOUS ANGEL, 100% GBB; and Lot 341, a Cracksman filly out of the Gr.3 winner ASHADIHAN.

GBBs Charlie Newton said: The Premier sale is always an exciting one. GBB has only been running for two years and yet it has produced several GBB-winning fillies. The scheme has really piqued interest in British bred fillies. There arent many opportunities to win tens of thousands of pounds in racing, but a GBB filly offers just that. The scheme is great news for owners, breeders and for British racing. This years catalogue is superb and Im sure well be seeing a number of our future winners going through the ring.

(.) Successful purchasers are reminded that an additional registration fee of £350 is likely to be required to maintain a fillys GBB status and this must be completed by 28th February 2023.
